The Atlanta Hawks have reached an agreement to hire Spurs staff member Landry Fields as an assistant general manager.

The 32-year-old Fields had been the general manager of the Spurs’ G-League affiliate in Austin since September 2019. He had previously served as a scout for the Spurs beginning in 2016.

Fields was a key component of a G-League program that sent Lonnie Walker IV and Keldon Johnson to the NBA club this season.

His departure marks the second key staff member the Austin Spurs have lost since the start of the season. Coach Blake Ahearn left in June to become an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Landry Fields talks to players who tried out for the Austin Spurs at the Round Rock Sports Center last Sunday morning.
