Walter Calesso Restaurant, a historic building

Walter Calesso Restaurant has always been in the same place, the 345 of Evergreen Terrace, Des Moines's most famous high street. The building was built in 1879 by Thomas Crook and it was designed to be a newspaper writing room. However, the paper closed just before the termination of the building so the owners sold the property and this historic building became Walter Calesso Restaurant, a reference for Iowa's most demanding gourmets.
