The worldwide premiere of a poignant, beautiful new musical, Always Remember, promises to be a hit. Created by Marilyn Morales, part of the dual pianist team of Whipple Morales, the premiere will be held at the Miramar Cultural Center, March 26 – 29. The story line is fictional but is based on real life experiences of Cuban immigrants. That said, it also has broad universal appeal with some of the most beautiful songs that are sure to touch anyone’s heart. The first night, there will also be a VIP reception. In addition, on the day of the matinee, guests are asked to come early for some fun preshow entertainment. Guests at the Coral Gables Woman’s Club Gala held earlier this month were treated to songs by two leads in the musical’s 40 member cast and were blown away with their voices and one of the songs from the musical. It was such an honor having Marilyn and Kirk Whipple on my Gloria Gab Live show with CGWC President Arely Ruiz, of Arely PR, to talk about this premiere with our viewers. St. Louis Catholic’s Festival of the Poor is coming up March 20-22 and organizers expect this will be the best one ever. 100 percent of the proceeds of the 45 year old festival are directed to nonprofit agencies in the community. This is an event that has it all. From a 5K Run/Walk, domino tournament, and car show to entertainment, silent auction, laser tag and more. The fun begins on Friday night, 6 – 10 p.m. with Food Trucks and a “golf cart round up.” Kudos to event coordinator Mari Alvarez and all those who work tirelessly to raise funds for this community outreach supporting such organizations as Camillus House, Kristi House, Habitat for Humanity, A Safe Haven for Newborns, and St. Ann’s Mission, to mention a few.
