Falls City’s Hart takes job at Merkel

Merkel ISD’s school board on Monday night approved the hiring of Falls City’s Britt Hart to be its high school’s football coach and athletic director.

Hart was 58-12 in five seasons at Falls City. He led the Beavers to the Class 2A Division II state semifinals the last two seasons. They lost to eventual state champion Mart each time.

Hart will Merkel’s third head coach in three seasons. He replaces Brian Ramsey, who stepped down after a 2-8 season to become the head coach at Morton.
