Reagan boys track coach John Baskin retires

Reagan head boys track coach John Baskin announced his retirement after 16 years at the school and 35 years overall in coaching, according to rattlersports.com.

Baskin, who was also an assistant football coach, joined the Reagan athletic staff in 2004. He began his career in 1985 at Georgetown and also coached at Kermit, Brady and San Saba before coming to Reagan.

Reagan won consecutive District 26-6A boys track and field championships in 2015 and 2016 and recorded second-place finishes in district the past three years under Baskin.
